Golden Eagle Involvement Expo
September 17th, 2026

Sargeant Student Center

The Involvement Expo is one of the best ways for your club/organization to recruit new members and connect to the student body. If you choose to be present, your club/organization will get either a table or a section of the counter in the Student Center, and it’s up to you what you do with it.

Event Timeline:

• Setup 10 am
• Need to be fully setup by 11:30 am AT THE LATEST
• Event runs from 12 pm - 2 pm
• Clean up 2pm (DO NOT start packing up until 2pm)

Guidelines:

• There will be music playing in the Student Center. Please do not plan on bringing your own music or anything that requires sound.
• If you need two groups to be next to/near each other due to the students working at the table, please note that on the form or email umccsa@crk.umn.edu

A few ideas to get you started:

• Promote any social media accounts your club or organization has - QR codes are a quick and easy way to do this
• Give out small brochures of information - tell them what you do
• Show pictures of your group in action
• Give out small gifts or food - people love free stuff
• Advertise when and where your group meets, and encourage people to attend a meeting
• Have more than one club member present at your booth so they can provide students with a richer description of what you do

Discuss what you want to have at your table within your group. Contact CSA with any questions about how to execute your plan.

The expo is in the second week of classes, and it comes faster than you expect. Ensure that there will be a representative from your group at your station for the entire duration of the event. I recommend planning ahead and being prepared well ahead of time so you can start the year smoothly.

Monica is available to answer questions, but you are ultimately responsible for your table.

Trunk-or-Treat

Campus Mall

Trunk-or-Treat is organized by SAAC, and serves as a way for children in the community to go trick-or-treating in a more safe and efficient environment than going door-to-door.

Clubs and teams set up a car around the campus mall decorated with a theme of their choosing and pass out candy. Setup will start at 3:30pm.

Please keep in mind this event is for young children. Your theme, decorations, and costumes must be family friendly and not too scary. If you have to ask if something's okay, it's probably better to just avoid it.

Santaland
December 5th, 2026
Sargeant Student Center

Santaland is organized by CSA, and always falls on the first Saturday of December. The goal is to provide various holiday activities for kids. Clubs and teams can sign up to host a game/craft/activity. These are first come first served, so if two groups sign up with the same activity, whoever signed up last will need to choose a new one.

Like Trunk-or-Treat, this event is for young children. We of course hope that club members have fun at this event, but the primary focus should be creating a good experience for the kids. Additionally, we will not be the reason that anyone finds out that Santa isn't real. As long as there are still children in the building, that is the real Santa Claus.
