Requirements

NOTE: These requirements do not apply to GEE. Because this group does not receive funding from CSA, they are not held to CSA requirements, but a member of their group serves as an ex officio member of the CSA Executive Board.

  • Annual Registration

    • New groups can register at any time during the academic year
    • Existing groups will be notified in CampusGroups when they are required to re-register for the following year
    • Re-registration opens after Spring Break and is open through the end of the semester

  • Attendance and Report at CSA Meetings

    • Representatives may only be recognized to report for no more than two student groups at CSA Full Board meetings.
    • Student groups can designate a proxy to speak on behalf of their group if necessary.
    • Up to 2 absences are excused. Any group without a representative at more than 2 meetings in one semester will lose funding for that semester.

  • 1 Service Project per Semester

    • A cumulative minimum of 35% of the total number of a student group’s members listed on their roster is needed to participate in order for the project(s) to be considered a valid act of community service.
    • Service projects MUST be reported via the designated form by the Friday before Finals Week each semester.

  • Participation in either Trunk-or-Treat or Santaland

    • Adequate participation is measured by each group's respective station being properly staffed for the duration of the event. At no point should a station be left unattended
    • If a group participates in both events, their Fall semester service requirement is fulfilled
    • Under extenuating circumstances, to be reviewed by the CSA Executive Board, groups may replace this event requirement with an additional service project.

  • Membership

    • Faculty/Staff advisor
    • All members must be enrolled in 6 or more credits.
    • Two of those members must be designated as officers, although larger groups are encouraged to have more than two officers. One must be the President, and the other may be Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer, based on the needs of the student group.
    • Officer positions must be written into the student group’s constitution.
    • Officers must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

  • Additional

    • A constitution that is approved by CSA (submitted via the registration form) Changes to the Constitution must be approved by the CSA Full Board as well
    • Approve all fundraisers through CSA
    • Notify CSA of any changes in status
    • Abide by and uphold all policies laid out in the CSA Constitution, CSA Bylaws, and Student Group Handbook.
    • Abide by all University policies
    • State a purpose which benefits the student body and is not substantially the same as the purpose of another recognized student group.
